I've just seen a small issue (at least for me).

Now that I have a new drybox and that I've started to install filaments into the drybox, I've seen that it is not possible to make head calibration if there is no reel on the robox.

For exemple, in my case, I charge the filament into the head, the robox knows there is a filament in the head, but doesn't know which filament it is. Then, I select the good one in the list. But, if I try to make a head calibration, I can't select height calibration or opening calibration.


In addition, because you can't plug directly the roboxpro on usb port, please note that i use the root mode, which is a boring situation because I would like so much to plug this machine on the computer in usb mode instead of RJ45 network due to my companies computer limitations for safety (due to the raspberry Pi3 having wifi mode. This is identified by my company as a potential entry on the network without pass/login and is not allowed)



ps : i was able to do the calibration, but for this I installed a reel on the machine, even if the filament was coming from the drybox.

@olivier-masson This is not a bug, but a required function. The calibration program does not have a way to pull the material data from the custom profiles, so it must use the SmartReel data. Since you only need to run calibration once per print head this should not be a huge inconvenience. If you are running calibration more than once per print head, you are either doing so needlessly or you have a problem with your printer or print head.

For DryBox usage of SmartReel profiles we use a little hub with a SmartReel chip inside it and write profiles to this, we will make this available as a small purchase soon. You can use any SmartReel to do the same thing, just write over the profile on the reel clipped to the side with the profile of the materials you are using from the DryBox.
