CEL Nylon Smartreel profile

Hi,

I wanted to start a print using my Nylon SmartReel this evening but it's not being recognised at all in the printer.

I know it's definitely the reel and not either of the reel readers as my Polysupport reads in both the main reader and the second filament reel reader.

The other problem is that I cannot seem to find a filament profile which I can tell Automaker to use so I can actually start a print off.

Could someone point me to where I can find the official Nylon filament profile?

Thanks!

@stevepf It should be in your default profiles as PA12

Thanks Pete, obvious when you know the code-word for it!

@stevepf nylon is part of the family of polyamides. Different varieties of nylon will have different designations, i.e. PA6, PA6-6, PA12, etc.

@bhudson

But presumably that the only Nylon filament you can buy on a SmartReel is PA12, and if so, would be handy for the profile to say as much.

I cannot remember if when the SmartReel worked previously whether the word 'Nylon' was in the description or not - only someone with one of those reels would be able to tell me now.

@stevepf For now, yes, the PA12 is the only one, but this may change. I personally have reels of PA6, PA66, and PA12 from a variety of companies. I also have fiber filled nylon.

The SmartReel should automatically update its profile when used with a new version of AutoMaker for the first time. You can try re-writing the profile to the reel, unless the reel chip has been damaged somehow.

You are correct Steve, it should be easier to spot this in the list. I'll put a note in for software.
