Powering Raspberry Pi from Robox

Hi guys,

Has anyone done any testing on the internal expansion pins on the robox? I'm looking to power my model 3b+ raspberry pi somehow and I can only see 12v and 24v outputs on the main board?

Kind regards,

Jimmy

@nocerame The power supply recommendation for the RPi 3B+ is about 2 amps under normal use. The Robox power supply does not have enough overhead to power the RPi and its own functions at the same time. I suggest you stay with an independent power supply. You may be able to use a RPi Zero, but even that smaller board may push the PSU beyond is capabilities.

The new Robox PCB design has 5v available for this purpose. It is backwards compatible and has a lot of other nice shiny features. Release date is still pending but wont be long.

Robox is a complex machine with many potential uses, to help preserve the good working order of both hardware and software please be patient and note that many common fixes for other 3D printers do not apply to Robox and may cause irreversible damage or compromise safe operation.
