Hi!

Is it possible to add customs HTTP commands to being send by Root at some events (begining of print, finish of print, Errors, etc)? I would like to comunicate the Robox with my Smart Home.

I know how to make the commands, only thing I need is where to insert them.

Thanks.

Hi,

This is not something currently available on Root, however it's definitely something we would be interested in exploring. Would you mind me asking what you would be using to deal with the responses from the triggers? Would it be something similar to IFTTT?

Thanks,

George

Hi George.

I'am dealer of Control4 smart home system. In my house (it is my showroom too) I have total control of lights, comfort (nest thermostat and air conditioners), blinds, smart locks, alarm, audio, video, xbox, nas, cameras, etc. I can make all devices to interactuate each other, for example, when I arrive at home with my personal code of smart lock, it deactivate the alarm, it open the shades (close it at night), set thermostat at 24°c and starts to play my favourite list of spotify in all my flat (multi-room audio).

I have integrated the Pi Camera of the Robox and stream throughout the Control4 system, so I can watch the live streaming of the print in my TVs, Control4 In-Wall touchscreens, cellphone and tablet.

Now I would like to add some functions like receive pop-up at my phone and TVs when the print start/finish/error, etc.

The easiest way to do this (without making a specific driver for Control4) is to execute http commands to the IP of the controller and when this commands are received, execute determined events.

Could you guide me to edit the Robox/Mote files (if the can be edited) to add this commands? Obviously I am aware of warranty violation.

Thanks!

Hi Juan,

Sounds pretty cool! Thank you for all the information. As I said, it would be an interesting thing for us to look into and certainly a feature request we can add to our list. Currently though there isn't really a way for you to add these HTTP requests.

Thanks,

George
