Hi,

we do have a Robox printer in our Fablab and strangely it no longer connects to the PC via USB. When booting up, the blue lamp starts flickering and the SW still shows a disconnected printer. Even more strange, we saw that the print bed is starting to heat up even before we start the print job or even try to load the filament. I think that might be a faulty mainboard requiring servicing, but it anything else for me to check, please let me know

Peter

@peter4711 Please create a support ticket for this, link in my forum signature. The bed is heated using AC power so it can be dangerous. Make sure the printer is safely  removed from use and follow the advice of the support team.

There may be a loose connection which is causing problems, the most common one is the head not seating in the mount, check the screw is tightened firmly. Also check the cables behind the head, these can come loose with movement, particularly the red and black 2 pin wire, check this behind the head and where it connects in the top left of the build area.

Thanks, I have created a ticket #12347.

Checked all cables and everything seem to be alright, but shouldn't at least the printer show up in the SW?

Any more advice? Is there some diagnostics program available that we can run on our side to gather more data?

Regards

Peter

If there has been a surge of some sort it can damage the mainboard. This would prevent it from appearing as a USB device.

Safe mode in the link above might give some clues, adding any sort of USB hub between the printer and your computer can also help. Please test using another computer if possible.
